If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed with social media content—wondering what to post, when to post, or if it’s even working—you’re not alone. Many healthcare practitioners post inconsistently or create content randomly without a clear strategy.

The key to making content work for you? A strategic content calendar—one that aligns with your revenue goals and ensures every post serves a purpose.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to create a content calendar for your healthcare practice so you can build a content strategy that nurtures your audience, attracts ideal patients, and, most importantly, drives results.

## Step 1: Start with Your Annual Revenue Goals

Before you plan a single post, you need to zoom out and look at the bigger picture:

✅ What’s your target revenue for the year, and how will you get there?

For example, ask yourself:

📌 How many new patient consultations do I need per month?

📌 How many program enrollments do I need to sell?

📌 What are my key offers or services that I want to highlight throughout the year?

At CBL, we recommend breaking down your revenue goals into quarters and then into months , ensuring that every marketing effort—including social media—supports your larger business objectives.

📌 Example: If your goal is to enroll 30 people in your 12-week gut health program in Q2, your content should educate and prime your audience for that offer in the months leading up to the launch.

## Step 2: Create a Quarterly and Monthly Breakdown

Once you’ve mapped out your revenue goals, it’s time to turn those numbers into a marketing plan.

🗓️ Break it down by quarter:

For example, if Q1’s focus is increasing new patient consultations, then your content should focus on education and trust-building around your expertise.

📅 Break it down by month:

Each month, identify key promotional activities and what type of content will support those efforts.

📌 Match content to promotions:

Your social media, emails, and long-form content should align with what you’re selling at any given time.

At CBL, we revisit and refine our quarterly plans every few months to stay agile.

📌 Example: If you’re a chiropractor launching a posture correction workshop in May, your April content should be focused on educating people about posture-related pain and why they need help.

## Step 3: Build Your Social Media Content Calendar

Now that you have a high-level plan, it’s time to get tactical.

Using our Content Calendar Template , you can:

✔ Identify key dates – Webinars, promotions, new patient specials, or seasonal health topics.

✔ Map out long-form content – Blog posts, patient education videos, or webinars that serve as cornerstone content for the month.

✔ Break content into weekly themes – Each week has a clear focus that ties back to your goals.

✔ Plan post types & calls to action – What action do you want your audience to take? ( Book a consultation? Download a free guide? Join a webinar? )

📌 Example: If you’re a naturopath focusing on hormone balance, your February content might include a blog on ‘5 Signs Your Hormones Are Out of Balance,’ an Instagram Q&A on hormone myths, and an email campaign promoting a hormone reset program.

## Step 4: Determine Your Posting Cadence

Consistency is key—but that doesn’t mean you have to post every single day .

📌 A good starting point for healthcare practitioners:

✔ 3-5 social media posts per week

✔ 1 long-form content piece per week (Blog, Video, or Podcast)

✔ Weekly patient education emails

💡 Start where you are! If posting five times a week feels overwhelming, start with one long-form post per month and one social post per week —then scale up as you get more comfortable.

## Step 5: Make Social Media Work for Your Business

Every piece of content should have a purpose. Your goal with social media shouldn’t be just to “show up”—it should be to drive patient engagement and ROI by :

✔ Attracting new patients through education & trust-building

✔ Encouraging inquiries and bookings

✔ Providing value that nurtures long-term patient relationships

Before you hit “post,” ask yourself: What do I want this content to accomplish? If your answer isn’t clear, it’s time to revisit your strategy.

📌 Example: If you’re a functional medicine practitioner, your content shouldn’t just be “tips and tricks” – it should guide potential patients toward booking a discovery call.
