Why Every Practitioner Needs a Meet & Greet Appointment (And How to Use It Strategically)

Why Every Practitioner Needs a Meet & Greet Appointment (And How to Use It Strategically)

If your calendar is full of discovery calls with unaligned patients, it’s time to fix the system.

Most practitioners don’t realize this—but one of the most powerful tools in your entire marketing strategy isn’t your website or your Instagram. It’s your meet and greet appointment.

This short, strategic conversation isn’t just a courtesy. It’s the first phase of your Signature Care System. And if you use it right, it can set the stage for more aligned clients, better retention, and a reputation for doing things differently.

Let’s break it down.

1. The Meet & Greet Is a Marketing Tool—Not Just a Call

All of your organic marketing efforts (talks, podcasts, social media) should point here. The goal is not to book a full assessment right away—it’s to book a conversation. Why?

Because this is where the alignment happens.

This is where you get to hear what they’re looking for—and share how you work. It’s where you introduce the idea that your practice is not like everyone else’s. That your approach is transformational, not transactional. That your work is deep, committed, and long-lasting.

You’re not selling a treatment. You’re offering a path.

2. You Set the Tone for the Entire Patient Experience

During this conversation, I used to say things like:

“We do things differently here. Our work together may take longer—but the results are built to last. I’ll show you a roadmap you’ve probably never seen before.”

What I was doing was planting the seeds of confidence, credibility, and curiosity. This isn’t fluff—it’s intentional. When you’re doing something incredible, you need to tell people. And you can do it with humility, sophistication, and clarity.

3. You’re Not Aiming for 100% Conversion

This is the part that might surprise you.

Early in my career, I thought the goal of a meet and greet was to convert everyone. I was aiming for 90% conversion into care.

But now? I tell our community to shoot for 60–70%. Why?

Because a high-value, transformational care model isn’t for everyone. Some people want quick fixes. Some people aren’t ready. That’s okay.

Your pricing and your system should be built for the 60% who are ready to go all in.

Those are the people who will get the most out of your care. And they’re the ones who will transform your business.

Want to build a care model that attracts more aligned patients—and converts with ease?

The Signature Care System is your blueprint for crafting a care model that’s outcome-driven, retention-ready, and built to scale.

Inside SCS, we help you map every phase of your patient experience, from meet and greet to maintenance, so you can lead with confidence and clarity.
